Have a Laugh

This post is just to fill the recent dearth of posts on this blog. So it’s about trivial stuff like comparing phones, none of which I own.

Reading the news about Nokia Lumia 1020, I landed up on this post titled “Nokia Lumia 1020 hardware 'lags behind'” and I laughed out loud even before noticing that it was on ‘AppleInsider’ or more aptly, reading the article. (Let’s ignore similar views / comments about software & apps as they are ‘beyond the scope’ of this post.)

After stopping myself from ROFL, I started reading the article. Mainly, its first section comprising of 7 paragraphs. And was disappointed to note that only the 2nd paragraph was relevant. It had a statement which again made me LOL: “… its "hardware features continue to lag behind some of the flagship devices like Samsung Galaxy S4," which is both lighter and thinner despite having a larger screen and faster processor.” (emphasis mine)

I guess you understand my issue with the word ‘continue’ but lets focus on the later part of the sentence. So, of all the possible hardware features that could be compared, they focus only on ‘light’ & ‘thin’. On top of that, they connect it to a ‘reason’ involving screen & processor with the word ‘despite’ as if the larger screen affects thickness or a faster processor affects lightness (or whatever the combination thereof they came up in their mind), conveniently forgetting that the slight differences (and yes, the differences are slight: 28g & 2.5mm) could be due to the massive camera sensor, lenses & OIS system packed in NL1020. Also, the larger screen is nothing to boast about as seen here:

To Lighten Things Up

So at the end of the day, the only real difference emerging from their ‘dumb analysis’  seems to be the dual-core 1.5GHz vs. Quad-core 1.9GHz, which is indeed something to boast about… Only technically, though! As long as the phones perform smoothly, this number doesn’t matter because one is not going to run MATLAB or Mathematica on them. And if IE10 & XBox games like Jetpack Joyride run smoothly on my NL620, NL1020 isn’t going to lag behind.

A much more interesting feature, they conveniently (again) forgot to mention, is that the NL1020 has a FM radio which SGS4 doesn’t. Now that is a real ‘lag’ in terms of hardware features! Anyway, since NL1020 is touting its camera (so much), how about comparing it on its own terms to something similar? Oh, but there’s not much (yet) to compare apart from this camera phone: ‘Galaxy S4 Zoom’. And you do quickly realize that it really ‘lags’ NL1020 in more than one way!

Enjoy forming your own opinions:

SGS4, SGS4Z, NL1020.

To Be Expected

After a long wait, here are some Sketchbook pages from volume 9. (The reason for the delay itself deserves a post, which will most probably appear next in a couple of weeks.) These are some of the ones that make enough sense even if one can’t read Japanese. (Ignore the low-resolution of the images… I think it doesn’t keep one from enjoying them.)

Huge Pet

Sora visits Takane’s house with Kei (hopefully, I’m not confusing the two new characters!) and is scared of Takane’s huge pet cat?

Game

Aso is introducing a new game in the Art Club. I remember playing such a game during my very early school days.

Hairstyle

Sora invents a new hairstyle for Ooba… Brilliant 4-koma!

Pointing

Sora learns the hard way that (most?) animals don’t look in the direction of the pointing finger.

Bad Luck

Moral: ‘Bad luck’ (read ‘comic situations’) can manifest anytime, anywhere to any person in any shape or form.

Preparation

Nagisa is in a dilemma and as I say: “Always write down things!”, which Ryou seems to be following closely in her research!

Laughter

Talking about research, is the Art Club discussing string theory in this volume? That would be quite a clash of my…

… Interests!

Food for thought

It seems there are two ways to identify a patient's disease or to know what abnormality is affecting his/her body – the first one is by asking him/her relevant questions and the other is by observing the symptoms. For example, if the doctor feels that the case might be of cataract, he might ask you questions like:
  • Is your vision declining stridently?
  • Is there a burning sensation in your eyes?
  • Do the eyes water quite often?
  • Is there a feeling of irritation?
  • Do you sense something when exposed to bright sunlight?
and come to a conclusion or using the other method, he might go for laboratory tests and detect the issue.

A doctor is always taught to first go for the Question & Answer session so that the diagnosis is economical to the patient. But most of the doctors today do not go by this rule. They want to start the treatment as early as possible, which is not a wrong thought process but most of the times it doesn’t send the right message to the suffering patient and he feels that the whole treatment is nothing but a commercial exercise by the Doctor. When a patient goes to a Gastroenterologist and says 'My stomach is not behaving the right way these days and I have trouble digesting food' and when the doctor doesn't ask much but instead writes all the blood tests to be conducted, a Sonography, an Endoscopy, a CT scan, etc. only to tell you that 'Everything is all right. Just take these 2 pills for a month and tell me how you get along’, one would feel cheated.

I have lived in different cities and in various parts of the country and there are some obvious differences that I have noticed. I’m sure some of you may have felt the same at different points of time in your life. Sorry to say that I do not have numbers as references and I will be sticking to only what I’ve heard and felt. I have seen people rushing to the South of India to seek medical consultation, to get operated. The primary reason is that the doctors in the South are better informed. Both North and South India makes doctors where they don’t enter colleges based on the marks they scored but a hefty payment made by their angel investors who need people to run their hospitals. I’m not saying that such doctors are inferior or they lack the skills and art to operate on patients, no they don’t. They learn the science after all by being at college and they have hospitals where they can refine their art.

If you compare Apollo Chennai and Apollo Kolkata, you would choose Chennai any day. Vasan eye Clinic - Madurai vs. Delhi - Madurai any day. I did my internship at Apollo Specialty Hospitals, Madurai. By talking to different people in the hospital, I realized that it was a place for the masses (contrary to my earlier notion that it was only for the affluent class) and the doctors who visited there plus the care offered by the nurses from Kerala was incomparable to any hospital in the North. I keep this as an example and think of AMRI in Kolkata (2011) where so many people died because of sheer negligence by the authorities.

Recently, I heard about the medical facilities in the US from a friend and a relative. They had different issues but something that demanded immediate attention. D told me, 'I’m unable to buy medicines and my problem is becoming severe because I’m not taking the regular doses. Firstly I need to buy a Medical insurance'. That's all wrong - is it more important that you get treated on time (before the problem becomes complex) or that you buy an insurance? V told me, 'As the pus came out on a Sunday, I had to rush to the doctor immediately and Sundays are considered emergency cases here, so I was charged double the normal'. It was a startling yet a true discovery for me. So, things are funny ‘everywhere’!

As I had aspired to become a doctor during my school days, I wrote a few entrance exams in Class 12. One of them was for a Deemed University named Annamalai - situated in Chidambaram, a township in Tamil Nadu. The written paper was so easy that I thought why it was so. The second round was an interview and I thought that I was very lucky to have been called for the interview only to figure out discussions of 18L or 20L INR going on while sitting outside the interviewer's room. I was invited inside and the doctor asked me a few questions on Vitamin B and C, the diseases caused due to the deficiency of Vitamin B12 (Cyanocobalamine) and a few others. Students waiting outside for the interview told me that all that was an eye-wash and for a few days I could not sleep well. I cursed myself for having scored a 1000 something rank in the medical entrances in the state and realizing anyone above 500 in the Open Category doesn't get a seat. May be it was because of me that my younger sister took things to her heart and said she was to become nothing but a Surgeon. I have experienced my sister and father having a debate about Women as Surgeons. He asks, 'Would you have sent your mom to be treated by a lady surgeon' and she replies, 'Why not? The fact is that I don't find anyone capable on the streets!'

I wonder why doctors forget the economies learnt during the graduation and the post-graduation days. After all, 'Healthy living is for all' and they write in bold letters inside and outside the hospitals: ‘It is Not about living but living healthy'. They don’t live up to what they say.

This is my perfect example of a care-center.

Evaluation

So my evaluation as a ‘teacher’ is out and “Oh boy, they don’t disappoint!”. This post provides a sneak peek (actually only 24 out of 89 people responded, so it’s all the view) at these funny comments. These comments are basically answers to ‘What did I do particularly well?’ and ‘What could I do better?’. No points for figuring out which sentences answer which question!

Just a reminder: This is not a ‘reply’ to students but an attempt to ‘document’ so do have a stomach-splitting laugh at our expense!

Let’s start with Section 4: The section which did the ‘best’ with a mean of 6/10. The maximum achieved being 9 by two students and curiously no one got 3! Let’s hear from them *a big round of applause*:

smart and rigorous, but his indian accent and scripted writing made him hard to understand sometimes. Sometimes he would use symbols that were unreadable or beyond the scope of the course [Point noted.]

Give easier quizzes. Write larger on the blackboard. [Ok.]

Please go through the whole problem instead of just part of it. It makes it even more confusing when you stop halfway through the problem. Please look at the questions before hand and get an understanding. Don't spend the whole class period trying to figure out the questions yourself. [Which class did you attend?]

Not waste the classes time by doing the homework problems that most people have already done. [So… any suggestions?]

Not stand directly in front of the black board and stop finding the most complicated way to do every problem. The class has no [no what?] I don't think you could have made the class more dry or useless. The only reason I go is because there are graded quizzes. You grade the quizzes way too hard. Material not covered in class is often on the quizzes. [Great fictional summary of the class (apart from the dry bit)!]

stop teaching, hes [sic] not fit to be a teacher.

Takes time to teach background on questions before doing them. Needs to speak slower, assign quizzes more closely related to what we are doing in class. [Advice taken.]

Gets to the solutions of homework problems so they may be understood later with such a limited time for recitation. Write on the board clearer. [Good PoV!]

Tries to answer students' questions. Individual quizzes are way too hard. [Well…]

Section 7: The section which didn’t do well with a mean of just 4/10. The maximum achieved being 8 by two students and curiously no one got 7 (or 0 for that matter)! Let’s hear them *a small round of applause*:

He gives you the answers. He could go over what we learned. He gives really hard quizzes. [Hmmm…]

i only went to this recitation for hw answers and the quizzes which i always failed anyway since they were on topics we didnt know so i dont know why i bothered going no explanations no enthusiasm [Yooo!!!]

Speak clearer. WRITE ON THE BOARD CLEARER. [OK.]

Writing. Explaining. (I write well. I could explain better.) [Point taken.]

Not much besides the bare minimum of being TA for an hour. Actually interact and engage with the audience. We're not robots, we actually want to learn but it doesn't help if the instructor is monotonously talking to board. When I say "interact" that does not mean just ask students if they have any questions. As in explain how things work and even throw in a joke or interesting anecdote that pertains to the context. It's an hour of sit in the room and fail those horribly abstract quizzes. [Hahahaha… Good point, well-taken!]

Section 8: The section that I found the most interesting and sort of comforting to teach but sadly they didn’t do as well on quizzes as I expected. But everyone did well on the finals and they got a mean of 5/10 in the recitation, so all good! Also, only in this section did one student achieve the maximum of 10 but then nobody got 9! Everything balances out I guess. Without further ado, let’s hear from these students *a great round of applause*:

helped breakdown some concepts. give us quizzes on material we covered in class. the quiz effect my grade but recitation is designed for reinforcing concepts. it punishes me for not understanding. when I am their to understand. [Got it.]

Understands and explains the material well. Goes through homework problems and explains them quite thoroughly. Perhaps allow students to work on the quiz problems in small groups or pairs. I remember this working effectively in my recitation section last semester. Some people may understand certain topics better than others, so the collaborative method may be worth employing. The quizzes are often irrelevant to the current material being covered. [Will give it a thought.]

Th instructor helps students answer homework questions. the instructor could try to explain the work to the students while doing it. He could speak much louder and try to explain what is taught in class instead of just giving a quizz on something most people don't understand due to the horrible teacher during lecture. [Ok.]

He goes thoroughly over hw questions. Be more enthusiastic. [Will try!]

The instructor does a good job going over the homework problems during class. The instructor could do a better job of actually reviewing what we learned in class instead of just doing homework problems. [Fine point.]

He tries to explain the homework. He could have focused more on the physics than the homework problems themselves. [Hmm.]

Clarify the material, as opposed to simply solving problems on the board. Write legibly. [ok…]

Asks students for any specific problems help is required for. Could explain concepts better. [Ya.]

So the most persistent theme (apart from me not ‘explaining / reviewing’ concepts) seems to be (not just from the above evaluation but even during the classes): “I gave hard quizzes and they were not related to the material being taught in class.” How hard was it for these students to understand / figure out that the quiz was always based on the previous week’s HW? And if they can’t even remember what was covered in the previous HW, how would they be able to do a quiz based on this week’s HW? I’m sure these people have not yet got around to even glance at it! About the other issue, apart from the first 2 quizzes, the rest 5 were not at all hard (even that is not quite true but let’s cut them some slack, shouldn’t we?)! In fact they were picked from the previous HWs with only slight modifications. For some perspective, here is the last quiz that I gave them on ‘Electromagnetic Waves’:

A. Which of the following statements are correct? (Check all that apply.)
□ Electromagnetic waves have different frequencies.
□ Light propagates at different velocity depending on who’s watching.
□ Microwave ovens and some wireless routers emit radio waves in the same frequency band.
□ Rainbow colours require special crayons that are available only to horizon-dwellers.
□ Earth absorbs visible light and emits radiation with a longer wavelength.
□ Sun is described in scientific articles as a perfect White Balanced body.

B. What is the wavelength of the EM radiation with a frequency of 3×10¹⁵Hz? (Give answer in nm.)

C. In the above-mentioned EM wave, magnetic field has an rms value of 8×10⁻⁹T. Determine the rms value of its electric field. (Give proper units.)

New Arrival(s)

When you read 2 chapters of Sketchbook after a long time, you start wondering if there is a new volume appearing this year, don’t you? I did wonder and so headed straight to cdjapan website. Lo and Behold, a limited edition of Vol9 (very much like Vol8) was up for pre-order. I ordered that along with this ‘Perfect Workbook’:

Perfect Workbook

It has been around for years and reached me ~2 weeks ago. This workbook has ‘exclusive’ collection of sketches of all characters from both manga and anime. It also has ‘interviews’ of the mangaka, seiyuu(s), editor(s), …, basically a hell lot of writing on each page. I could only enjoy the sketches and it felt like the SuzuKaze combo were joking about something every once in a while. It also seemed like they were the ones who interviewed Totan Kobako! It made me want to learn Japanese so badly that I ordered Nokia Lumia 620 because then I could use the Bing Translator app to read the book like this:

Real-time Translation

Sadly, that app doesn’t support Japanese to English (yet)! Anyway, back to Sketchbook. The latest volume showed up in my mailbox on this Thu:

Volume 9

Here we see both the ‘Art’ teachers (along with their pets) on the front cover. I had hoped only Kasugano-sensei would be there. Well, to be honest, I was hoping the President would be there! Anyway, there will be a next time (I hope). Then, I flipped the package and saw the back of the bundled mini Art book:

Mini Art Book

After ripping off the plastic cover, here’s the front cover of that:

The Art Club

Serene! This mini-book has at least one coloured poster for each character (obviously, Sora has the most). However, one might have seen these posters floating around on various Sketchbook-dedicated sites so not much is new here from that perspective. BUT holding these in your hand and ‘feeling’ the colours of the Art Club is an exhilarating experience for sure. I almost forgot to breathe, which happened while I was browsing through the Workbook too. One would guess, I’d have learnt my lesson!

I was able to understand a few strips: Ooba comes in the art room with very long hair and ‘asks’ Kokage & Sora what to do about them. Sora shows her to wrap her hair around the face and tie a knot below the chin (something like this)! Then, all of them do that and Kasugano-sensei gets the shock of her life. I think in this volume at least 2 events (I mean those that span the whole chapter) happen in the art club: one where they play some sort of a game where others guess what one has drawn and another where they have a night-out (like in anime’s 6th episode). There are many pages devoted to Sora hanging out with Takane & Kei. Hilarious scenes there! There’s also summer festival to look forward to with some of them in Yukata. Mention of Asaka’s strength crops up again and both Negishi & President have to acknowledge her! That strip is more jaw-dropping than hilarious. Smile

So that’s more or less a review of the latest volume and looking forward to the translations, whenever Musashi Quality picks it up. Ending this post with the slight diversion above:

Tiled Front of NL620

Update: It seems the regular edition of Vol9 has Kasugano-sensei and President on the front cover (along with P-chan & Mike)!

Never-Before-or-Ever-Again

It is safe to assume you might have heard phrases like ‘I’ve never experienced anything like this before’ or ‘I won’t do anything like this ever again’* a hell lot of times before landing on this page. But how many of you mortals can claim to have heard/read both the phrases stuck together in a single sentence and that also in a(n) eye-popping, upgrading to jaw-dropping, leading to ground-breaking, yet calmly beautiful context? Here’s one that I can show share!

Before you get the urge to smash something and get your hands on it, let me help you calm down.

Olympus PEN E-P5 being shared...

Hope that calmed you down and you learned in the process that someone holding such a great product can be so calm & composed. That also teaches me to be patient and wait for it to be available preferably with the 14-42mm kit lens (and still less than $1K incl. tax) before I end up losing my sleep. Also, this video reminds me of Munawwar Rana’s  one-liner: “I don’t talk while reciting sher(s) because my sher(s) do all the talking”. You get the gist of what I wanted to write, I hope!

I also learned a new acronym: SNSs. Well, I couldn’t figure it out completely (‘Social’ was certainly there) so had to Bing it and it stands for ‘Social Networking Services.  For those ignorant people who gasp at that word, Yes, I use Bing for my normal, everyday queries. In fact, let me rephrase that to say I prefer Bing over Google for such queries, which basically means I’m sticking to Google whenever terms in Physics are involved!

Some more ranting: While Google let’s you see a ‘google doodle’ once in a while, Bing lets you see interesting ‘real-life’ photos & videos daily along with links to multiple aspect of the said media. On the financial front, I’ve been able to watch movies without paying from my own pocket by cashing Bing’s reward points on Amazon. Well, that most probably won’t last long but as long as it does, I’ll be able to watch a few more movies for ‘free’. So that’s all my interest in these so called and ridiculously hyped ‘search wars’.

Did you hear MS’s going to release a Surface Pro 2 later this year? Less than a year after I bought a Surface Pro! What the hell? It’s like getting E-PL1 all over again! I’ve been drooling over  E-PL5 for some time and now have to drool over SP2 too…

Anyway, never-before-or-ever-again, will you see me providing an end-of-the-post-link for a

Burning Suspense

This is a Forensic Sciences case narrated to me by my sister. She called it a complicated and yet an interesting one and you can frame your own opinions after reading it.

There was a person who no longer wished to live. He made a plan to commit suicide by jumping from the 10th floor. So it looks like a simple case of suicide at this point. But while he was preparing to jump, he was shot by a pistol fired from the 9th floor. There were repairs happening in the apartment during that time and a net was tied near one of the floors below so he fell on the net. Even though he fell on the net, he was already dead due to the gun shot. Well, now it looks like a case of murder.

Upon further investigation, it was discovered that there was a family staying in the 9th floor and the man inside the house was holding the pistol and ‘playfully’ threatening his wife at that time. Both the husband and the wife knew that the pistol was empty and the press of trigger was just another act they had played out many times before, in situations where he was annoyed by his wife or when he was drunk or some such stuff. It was definitely not the first time that he was playing with the pistol so he had basically tried to fire the gun at his wife but instead hit the falling man. Do you think it is still a case of murder? Well no, it becomes a case of suicide again.

The case moved at this stage towards identifying who loaded the pistol. The couple had a son who had some issues with his mother and so had actually loaded the pistol thinking it would kill his mother, when his father went berserk next time. Basically, he wished to use his father to do his bidding. But unfortunately, his father did not lift the pistol for a long time and he was getting frustrated. So instead of waiting, he planned to kill himself. That’s the circle closing in on itself.

Ironically, had the father not lifted the pistol at that moment, the son would not have died as he would have fallen on the net. Not digressing from what we were actually trying to figure out: it seems like a case of suicide, after all!

A(n) (Un)Certain World

A poem titled ‘Winter Eve’ was featured at ‘Futility Closet’ on the 9th of April:

Drear fiend: How shall this spay be dent?
I jell you no toque — I do not know.
What can I do but snatch the woe
that falls beyond my pane, and blench
my crows and ted my briny shears?
Now galls another class. I’ll sit
and eye the corm that’s fought in it.
Maces will I fake, and heart my pare.
Is this that sold elf that once I was
with lapped chips and tolling lung?
I hollow sward and tight my bung
for very shame, and yet no cause –
save that the beery witchery
of Life stows grail. Shall I abroad?
Track up my punks? Oh gray to pod
for him who sanders on the wee!
I’ll buff a stag with shiny torts
and soulful hocks, a truthbush too,
perhaps a rook to bead — but no!
my wishes must be dashed. Reports
of danger shake the reaming scare.
Whack against blight! Again that tune,
“A gritty pearl is just like a titty prune”
blows from the fox. I canot bear
this sweetness. Silence is best. I mat
my mistress and my sleazy lumber.
I’ll shake off my toes, for they encumber.
What if I tub my stow? The newt
goes better fakèd to the cot.
I’ll hash my wands or shake a tower,
(a rug of slum? a whiskey sour?)
water my pants in all their plots,
slob a male hairy before I seep –
and dropping each Id on heavy lie,
with none to sing me lullaby,
slop off to dreep, slop off to dreep.
-Robert Morse

As you can see, the words of this poem just invite you to ‘correct’ them. So we indulged in moving some letters between such ‘inviting’ words to make the poem sound the same but still different. Here goes our version:

Dear friend: How shall this day be spent?
I tell you no joke — I do not know.
What can I do but watch the snow
that falls beyond my plane, and bench
my crows and shed my briny tears?
Now calls another glass. I’ll sit
and eye the form that’s caught in it.
Faces will I make, and part my hair.
Is this that old self that once I was
with chapped lips and lolling tongue?
I swallow hard and bite my tongue
for very shame, and yet no cause –
save that the weary bitchery
of Life grows stale. Shall I abroad?
Pack up my trunks? Oh pray to God
for him who wanders on the sea!
I’ll stuff a bag with tiny shorts
and hole full socks, a toothbrush too,
perhaps a book to read — but no!
my dishes must be washed. Reports
of danger shake the screaming rare.
Black against white! Again that tune,
“A pretty girl is just like a pretty tune”
flows from the box. I can not bear
this sweetness. Silence is best. I met
my mistress and my lazy slumber.
I’ll take off my shoes, for they encumber.
What if I stub my toe? The newt
goes fetter cakèd to the bot.
I’ll wash my hands or take a shower,
(a slug of rum? a whiskey sour?)
water my plants in all their pots,
sob a Hail Mary before I sleep –
and dropping each lid on heavy eye,
with none to sing me lullaby,
drop off to sleep, drop off to sleep.

It seems not all sentences have letters swapped and we  are not sure about the words in some sentences, like these two: “my crows and ted my briny shears” and “goes better fakèd to the cot”.

Ropefully, the headers can help!

Rejuvenation

It’s been a long time since I translated any shers so during this month of April (Fools), let me do just that. (There is no prank here, though!) Now you realize that the title of this post makes perfect sense. It is about rejuvenating oneself through the brilliant & piercing Ghazals of Waseem Barelvi! [Obviously, read the tab titled ‘Shayari’ above before continuing.]

इरादा छोड़िए अपनी हदों से दूर जाने का
ज़माना है ज़माने की निगाहों में न आने का

Iraada chhodiye apni hadon se door jaane ka
Zamaana hai zamaane ki nigaahon mein na aane ka

Let go of the thoughts of surpassing your limits
This is the world of not catching the world’s eyes

कहाँ की दोस्ती, किन दोस्तों की बात करते हो
मियां! दुश्मन नहीं मिलता कोई अब तो ठिकाने का

Kahan ki dosti, kin doston ki baat karte ho
Miyan! dushman nahin milta koi ab to thikaane ka

What friendship, what friends do you talk about
Sir! There are not even worthy enemies around

निगाहों में कोई भी दूसरा चेहरा नहीं आया
भरोसा ही कुछ ऐसा था तुम्हारे लौट आने का

Nigaahon mein koi bhi doosra chehra nahin aaya
Bharosa hi kuch aisa tha tumhaare laut aane ka

Never did any other face distract me
Such was my belief that you’ll return

ये मैं ही था बचाके खुद को ले आया किनारे तक
समंदर ने बहुत मौका दिया था डूब जाने का

Ye main hi tha bachaake khud ko le aaya kinaare tak
Samandar ne bahut mauka diya tha doob jaane ka

It was me, who brought myself back to the shore
The sea did present a lot of opportunities to drown

-वसीम बरेलवी (Waseem Barelvi)

Let’s have some more shers – shers about (over-)confidence.

तू क्या समझा तुझसे बिछड़ कर बिखरुंगा?
देख ये मैं हूँ, मुझको संभलना आता है!

Tu kya samjha tujhse bichhad kar bikhrunga?
Dekh ye main hun, mujhko sambhalna aata hai!

Did you think I will fade away without you?
Look it is I, I know how to remain unfazed.

तुम क्या सोच रहे हो मेरे बारे में?
चेहरे से ही अंदाज़ा हो जाता है!

Tum kya soch rahe ho mere baare mein?
Chehre se hi andaaza ho jaata hai!

What are you thinking about me?
Your face gives away all the ideas.

-वसीम बरेलवी (Waseem Barelvi)

These are all the shers that I found interesting AND could translate from this source video:

Waseem Barelvi

His voice as always lifts your spirits up and listening to his shers is (as usual) a hair-raising & spine-shivering experience.
